Bladensburg Sector Plan
A Vibrant Future for a Historic Community
Established in 1742, Bladensburg was originally a busy port town along the Anacostia River in Prince George's County, Maryland. The town's colorful history spawned several generations of distinct architectural styles, including mid-18th-century Georgian, early 19th-century Bungalow, and mid-20th century Art Deco and Streamline Modern. Rhodeside & Harwell, working with Bay Area Economics and Wells Associates, developed a Sector Plan and Section Map Amendment that creates three district neighborhoods reflecting the architectural character of the existing buildings. The plan includes the relocation of the town hall to a prominent site within Bladensburg's new town center.
