National Aquarium in Baltimore
"A Celebration of the Bay Watershed"
Set along Pier 3 of Baltimore’s famed Inner Harbor, the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Waterfront Park serves as an educational setting, a popular civic amenity, and an engaging entranceway into the internationally acclaimed aquarium. The park offers a progression of native planting areas and interpretive elements that explore Maryland’s diverse ecosystems, from the ocean, coastal plains, and Chesapeake Bay through the Piedmont region and Allegheny Mountains. Breakthrough design concepts include a series of underground soil panels that support mature shade trees and numerous sustainable strategies.
"This beautiful park is emblematic of the aquarium's commitment to the environment and teaches about the watershed we live in."
