Essex County Branch Brook Park CLR
"A Grand Central Park” for Newark
The nation’s first county park to be opened to public use, Branch Brook Park offers nearly 360 acres of verdant beauty spanning approximately 2.5 miles in downtown Newark, New Jersey. The park was designed by the firm of Frederick Law Olmsted and has in recent years been the focus of ambitious restoration efforts. Rhodeside & Harwell developed a Cultural Landscape Report that examined more than 700 historic documents and included an extensive vegetation database, infrastructure inventory, and treatment and management plans to guide restoration and maintenance efforts.
